A few months ago, the Fremont Area Art Association informed me about this Public Art Project, Nebraska By Heart, celebrating Nebraska’s Sesquicentennial. Having done several public art projects in the past, as an artist, I know how rewarding they can be both for both the artist and the community involved. Realizing I didn’t have much time to think about this I rushed to one of my many escapes to hunt for ideas. So I went to one of my favorite libraries to get inspired. After an hour or so the librarian and began piecing together this idea of a visual experience of Nebraska through the eyes of it’s authors. To encourage readers to be those eyes. What a better way to celebrate this great state of Nebraska and it’s authors.
